EQOS Energie commissioned by Stadtwerke Stassfurt to construct cable route
EQOS Energie Deutschland has been commissioned by Stadtwerke Stassfurt GmbH to construct the entire cable system for the newly planned substation in Förderstedt. This involves the construction of a separate 110-/20-kV substation, which will be completed by the end of 2016. The new 110-kV feed-in will replace the regional distribution network operator’s current medium-voltage feed-in. The work on the cable system will take place from April to October 2016.
Within the project, EQOS Energie is responsible for the construction of the cable route, consisting of the civil engineering works and the complete cable supply, cable laying and installation. This includes the medium-voltage cable connection with four cable systems, two fibre optic data cables and four protective pipes. In addition to the measurement of the cable route, EQOS Energie shall take over the planning, project management and construction management for the project.
In total, around 140 kilometres of cables, thereof approximately 120 kilometres of 20 kV MV cables and 20 kilometres of fibre optic data cables, will be laid for the new cable route. “In this respect, 95 percent of the civil engineering works to construct the cable trench will take place using the open-trench method”, according to Markus Schmidt, project manager for EQOS Energie. “Furthermore, we will use approximately 300 m as horizontal drillings or steel pipe jacking for the non-disruptive crossing of railway tracks, other pipelines, trenches and roads.”
